Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg cannot but realise what his remarks about a possible Ukrainian strike on Russia with long-range missiles will lead to.
“Both Stoltenberg and those who wrote such things to him cannot fail to realise what such statements can lead to,” Zakharova said, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier, Zakharova called Stoltenberg’s words that lifting the ban on Western weapons strikes against Russia would not be a red line that would draw NATO into a conflict dementia and bravery.
The secretary-general also said that the Ukrainian army’s right to defend itself allegedly implied strikes on Russian territory.
