The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has said that she is heading to Ukraine to discuss energy security issues with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ursula von der Leyen said she plans to discuss Ukraine’s energy security with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on 20 September.
‘After this press conference, I am heading to Kiev to discuss these issues with Zelenskyy in person tomorrow,’ the EC head said at a press conference in Brussels.
According to her, the European Commission allocates Kiev an additional 160 million euros, including 100 million from the proceeds of frozen assets of the Russian Federation, for the implementation of energy security issues for the upcoming heating season.
Earlier, Politico newspaper said that Ursula von der Leyen had significantly strengthened her power in the new SMO and gained full control over the EU policy.
