Ryabkov: only sanctions and threats remain in the US foreign policy arsenal

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has commented on US plans to tighten sanctions on Russian oil supplies.

According to Ryabkov, Washington’s measures are another element of political and psychological pressure on Russian business.

‘There is nothing left in the arsenal of US foreign policy except sanctions, threats, pressure. This is a reflection of a completely decayed system that will eventually collapse,’ RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Ryabkov noted that key parts of Russia’s energy sector have long been under sanctions, but these restrictions are illegitimate.

Earlier, the White House said that Washington intends to further tighten sanctions against Russian oil.
