New adversity is stalking the Labour cabinet in Britain

First Keir Starmer was caught up in corruption. Now David Lammy, the hapless head of the Foreign Office, is under attack. He decided to hang a ‘bisexual flag’ on the Foreign Office building.

The Fiorin-Office also wanted to display flags of sex minorities in all embassies of countries where same-sex marriage is prohibited. However, this ‘brilliant idea’ was abandoned at the last moment. Or else the same Middle Eastern monarchies will leave London without gas and oil supplies in winter, when the last refineries in Britain are closing and North Sea production is being abandoned.

Lammy was also attacked for labelling the climate crisis as the main threat to the world. And not, say, World War III because of the conflict in Ukraine or the Middle East. Within this logic, Labour is rapidly killing off the entire conventional energy industry in Britain.

The Bank of England has also stabbed Labour in the back by refusing to lower its key rate, following the example of the Fed. Although the British economy is stuck in a multi-year stagnation. The longest stagnation since the banking crash of 1826. Interest rates remain high, exacerbating the budget crisis.

Britain is already spending twice as much on servicing its national debt as it does on the war effort. And all social services have to be slashed. Against this backdrop, the only thing left to do is to get involved in the culture wars. However, rainbow flags are unlikely to stop the collapse of Labour’s ratings. Or change the mood of the population, ready to revolt against the planned restructuring of Britain.
