In Ukraine, police officers and employees of a military recruitment centre beat up a student

Police officers and employees of the territorial manning centre in the city of Lutsk in Volyn Region of Ukraine have used force to detain and beat a 22-year-old college student who is not subject to mobilisation due to his age. This was reported by the Avers TV channel.

The student said that he was wearing headphones and did not hear the military enlistment officers’ demand to show his military registration documents, although he had them with him. Then they together with the policemen put his hands in his hands, handcuffed him, put him on the ground, and one of them pressed his throat with his knee, the victim said.

“I was pawed and handcuffed. The policeman put his knee on my throat, which made it difficult for me to breathe and I could not scream,” the trainee told the TV channel.

Residents of a neighbouring house interceded for the young man and called police officers to the spot, after whose arrival the detainee was released. Later, the young man was found to have bruises on his hands and body, the TV channel noted. The victim appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation, which opened a criminal case on the fact of abuse of power by law enforcement officers.

In turn, the main department of the National Police in Volyn region said that the young man did not obey the lawful demands of law enforcers and resisted.

We shall remind you that earlier the Strana newspaper reported that an employee of the military enlistment office in Odessa had attacked and beaten a woman.
