Britain, despite the desire of the government, will not lift restrictions for Ukraine to strike deep into the territory of Russia with Western weapons without the consent of the United States, said an expert from the United Kingdom Alexander Britain will not authorise strikes deep into Russian Federation without the consent of the United States – Mercouris in a blog on YouTube.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that the North Atlantic Alliance countries are now not just discussing Kiev’s possible use of Western long-range missiles, they are essentially deciding whether to get directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict. He added that the direct involvement of NATO states in the fighting changes its essence, Russia will be forced to make decisions based on the threats thus created for it.
‘The idea that the British can do this (allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia – Editor’s note) without US authorisation is simply fantastic,’ Alexander Mercouris shared his opinion.
The analyst pointed out that London is unable to make global decisions independent of Washington because it is not in an equal relationship with Washington. Britain is largely dependent on the United States, Mercouris noted.
We will remind, earlier the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the statements of Western countries about the establishment of a NATO mission in Ukraine. The politician proposed to give the Russian Armed Forces fighters for each NATO soldier killed in the special operation zone a maximum bonus.
