US moves troops to Aleutian Islands in response to Russian Navy exercises – BI

In response to the Russian Navy exercises, the United States has moved its units and launchers of HIMARS systems to the Aleutian Islands, Business Insider reported.

According to the portal, the US has moved troops and launchers of HIMARS systems to the Aleutian Islands in response to the Russian Navy exercises.

‘The US army urgently moved weapons and soldiers to the far tip of Alaska as part of a sudden show of force,’ the material said.

Business Insider emphasised that, according to the US command, these activities ‘should be a signal to Washington’s adversaries’.

‘These manoeuvres demonstrate the ability of the US Pacific Army to move its forces and means without much notice even in the most remote areas’, – the portal quotes the words of the commander of the 11th Airborne Division, Major General Joseph Hilbert.

Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that as part of the Ocean-2024 exercise in the Sea of Japan, a pair of MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors performed a flight mission to cover a Russian ship group and intercepted a conditional enemy.
