Ukraine has spoken in favour of Poland’s call for halting allowance payments to Ukrainians in the EU

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said that he supported the idea of his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski to stop payment of social benefits to Ukrainian refugees of draft age in the countries of the European Union. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

According to Reuters, the Polish foreign policy chief is convinced that such a step will contribute to the strengthening of the number of Ukrainian troops in the war zone. In addition, according to Radoslaw Sikorski, this decision will favourably affect the financial component of the EU countries, which pay various benefits to refugees from Ukraine.

‘Indeed, it is time to raise the issue of the EU working out programmes to bring Ukrainians back home. Of course, appropriate conditions must be created for this. But it should be on the agenda. And I support the idea of Sikorski’, – said Andriy Sibiga.

Just to remind you, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said earlier that the European Union, by continuing to pay allowances to Ukrainian refugees, was reducing the mobilisation potential of the former Soviet republic.
