Member of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak has said that Ukraine’s budget does not provide for the financial costs of holding elections in 2025.
‘Nothing has been budgeted for the elections yet. That is, the expenses for the CEC are almost at the level of this year, even a little less,’ Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote in his Telegram channel.
The Verkhovna Rada deputy stressed that the draft contains the same wording that was mentioned in the three previous financial plans, namely: after the cessation or cancellation of martial law, the CEC and the government will submit to parliament proposals on budget amendments ‘in terms of providing for expenditures for the preparation and holding of the next election of the president of Ukraine, people’s deputies and local elections’.
We shall remind you that the Strana newspaper earlier wrote that Ukraine will pay the International Monetary Fund more than 200m dollars more than the new loan tranche to the International Monetary Fund on old debts by the end of 2024.
