UK and US have no plans to give the AFU permission to strike deep into Russian Federation – ITV

The United States and Britain are not going to authorise Ukraine at a meeting in Washington to use Western weapons to strike targets on Russian territory, the ITV television channel has reported, citing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to ITV, Keir Starmer will hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden in Washington on Friday, 13 September.

“However, he (Starmer – ed.) made it clear that during his meeting at the White House with President Biden on Friday, Ukraine will not be given permission to use Western missiles to strike air and missile bases on Russian territory,” the publication said.

The TV channel specified that the British Prime Minister announced his decision to journalists on the plane on his way to Washington. Starmer pointed out that the decision to expand Storm Shadow missile capabilities was “tactical”, while his discussions with Biden would focus entirely on strategy, ITV explained.

The head of the British government added that with the American President will be agreed on a new strategic framework, which will then determine the final answer for Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the use of Storm Shadow, summarised in the material.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the direct participation of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine changes its essence, Russia will make decisions based on the threats created for it.
