Lukashenko says Armenia’s aspirations for the West

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has noted Armenia’s aspiration to the West, but favoured the preservation of good relations.

‘It would not be bad if we, as before … build good relations with Armenia…. We tried to help Armenians in every possible way, we co-operated with the closest people, we helped in every possible way. But now, you see, they want to go to the West, to the EU,’ BelTA quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the CSTO Viktor Vasilyev said about the West’s attempts to pull Armenia away from its allies.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that Yerevan would not follow the path once chosen by the Kiev regime.
