Britain has handed over obsolete equipment to Ukraine – FT

Britain has “donated” to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) obsolete or recyclable military equipment that London believes is of value to the Ukrainian army. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper with a reference to a report by the National Audit Office (NAO).

“When choosing equipment to donate (to Ukraine – ed.), the defence ministry gave preference to older samples,” the report said.

The newspaper noted that such equipment was often subject to disposal or replacement. However, the British Ministry of Defence believes that “the transferred equipment had direct military value for the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

“It’s good that we got rid of the old equipment and now we can replace it with new,” – said an unnamed representative of the British MoD.

We will remind, earlier Forbes magazine mentioned that the new 154th brigade of the Armed forces of Ukraine is equipped only with obsolete weapons.
