The Netherlands has authorised Kiev to attack Russia with F-16s – FAZ

The Netherlands has allowed Ukraine to use F-16 fighter jets to strike Russian territory, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper has said.

According to the newspaper, the Netherlands does not restrict Kiev in using the supplied weapons.

“Ukraine can use our weapons on Russian territory for self-defence in accordance with international law. Kiev has the right to self-defence,” the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper quoted Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans as saying.

The official noted that this also applies to the F-16 fighter jets, which were transferred to Ukraine by Denmark.

Earlier, Ruben Brekelmans said that the Netherlands would send Ukraine air-to-air missiles and materials for the maintenance and repair of the F-16 aircraft handed over to it.
