Estonia will tighten rules on housing allowance for Ukrainians

The United States is interested in the deployment on the territory of Japan of ground-based medium-range missiles banned by the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF Treaty), from which Washington withdrew in 2019. This was stated by US Secretary of the Army Christine Warmuth.

“As of this Wednesday, the social insurance department intends to provide a lump-sum rental allowance only to those Ukrainian refugees who have recently arrived in Estonia,” the report said.

According to the ERR broadcaster, the lump-sum payment for newly arrived Ukrainian refugees will amount to 1,200 euros. This decree applies only to people who have obtained a residence permit for the first time and applied for this benefit within six months.

Just to remind you, Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur said earlier that the Estonian government was discussing with the Ukrainian authorities the return of conscripted Ukrainians from abroad to their home country.
