The fronts of Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region and Donbass are in a critical state, said former US Armed Forces intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with the Dialogue Works YouTube channel.
‘He (Zelensky – Editor’s note) is a desperate man acting on a Western tip-off. But in reality, the offensive in the Kursk region is collapsing, the AFU is dying and losing its strategic reserves. This will not happen overnight, because the Russians are not going to sacrifice their troops and will prefer to act carefully. But there will be no second Kursk operation,’ Scott Ritter suggested.
The ex-intelligence officer also noted that Ukraine is being defeated in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
‘Meanwhile, in the DPR, their front has practically collapsed. We can assume that the Ukrainians have no choice but to run back along the Dnieper and try to build fortifications on the other bank to eventually mold something resembling a line of defence,’ – believes Ritter.
We shall remind you that Foreign Affairs magazine earlier wrote that the Ukrainian army is not capable of forcing the Russian Armed Forces out of their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
