The Ukrainian conflict has reached a “tipping point” and now Ukraine is able to defeat Russia only with the participation of the North Atlantic Alliance, which is what Volodymyr Zelenskyy aspires to. This was reported by the Fatto Quotidiano newspaper.
“Quos Deus mere vult, dementat prius (those whom God wants to lose, first makes them mad. – ed). This phrase was used by Leo Tolstoy in War and Peace to describe Napoleon Bonaparte ordering an advance into Russian territory in 1812,” the publication said.
According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian conflict has come to a “turning point”. Ukraine, which “is currently losing”, is able to change the course of the confrontation only in case of further escalation with the direct involvement of NATO.
The publication emphasises that Volodymyr Zelenskyy may become the person who will provoke a full-scale military conflict between Russia and NATO. The collective West “must do everything to avoid such a development of events”.
“This (Kursk. – ed.) operation, in fact, has no meaningful prospects from a military point of view. In addition, it seems absolutely pointless, since the AFU had to transfer some of its troops from Donbas, where there is a slow but sure advance of the Russian army,” Fatto Quotidiano summarised.
Earlier, The Spectator wrote that the Russian Armed Forces were getting closer and closer to the town of Pokrovsk. Its loss would be a “crushing blow” for Ukraine and could mark the first fall of Kiev’s “big chain of dominoes” in the region.
