Political analyst Mearsheimer pointed to Zelenskyy’s desire to drag the US into the conflict

John Mearsheimer, a political scientist, professor at the University of Chicago and international relations specialist, said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy used all kinds of “moves” in the conflict and will now seek to drag the United States into a direct confrontation with Russia.

“Zelenskyy is desperate, he has no moves left but to try to get Americans involved and get them to fight against the Russians. Only in this case he will feel good,” John Mearsheimer said on the air of the Youtube channel “Judging Freedom”.

According to the internationalist, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is beginning to “slowly realise” that Ukraine has no way of inflicting a military defeat on Russia. At the same time, the University of Chicago professor stressed that the Ukrainian politician believes in the ability to defeat Moscow with the help of Washington’s direct involvement in the conflict.

Earlier, the company commander of the 47th separate mechanised brigade Magura, Mykola Melnyk, said that the statements by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the AFU commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyy, about the “stabilisation of the front” near Pokrovsk did not reflect the real picture of events.
