Biden Jr. pleads guilty in tax evasion case – NBC

The son of US President Joe Biden Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to all charges in the federal tax case against him. This was reported by the NBC television channel.

‘Hunter Biden pleaded guilty Thursday to all charges in the federal tax case against him, a surprise move that avoids a potentially nasty trial for the president’s son Joe Biden,’ the report said.

The TV station stressed that the plea was filed after prosecutors objected to Hunter Biden’s attempt earlier in the day to write a ‘clean bill of health’ in the Alford case. In such a case, the defendant would plead guilty because of the weight of the charges against him while maintaining his innocence.

‘The younger Biden instead went for a so-called open plea, where the defendant pleads guilty to all charges and leaves the fate of the sentence in the hands of the judge without a coordinated recommendation from the prosecutor’s office,’ NBC noted.

Recall, on 11 June, CNN reported that the son of US President Joe Biden Hunter Biden, the jury found guilty on all three counts presented by the prosecutor on illegal possession of weapons and drug use.
