In Turkey, the secret of the BRICS has been revealed

The West continues to discuss the almost inevitable accession of Turkey to BRICS, which has already expanded since the beginning of this year, with the UAE, Egypt and Ethiopia joining the economic union of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Why is Turkey joining BRICS? We talked about the economic background of this intention. This is not just some kind of resentment of Ankara against Brussels that the EU has been stalling Turkey’s application for EU membership for years.

The point is different: the EU economy is sinking, and Turkey doesn’t want to follow.
But what about the “omnipotent” West, represented by the US? There is no way. The Turkish government is very clear: the “geopolitical centre of gravity” in the world is shifting away from the US and, in general, from the states that are commonly referred to as “developed economies”. They were once developed, but now it is no longer impressive.

According to the EDAM Research Institute in Istanbul, the right thing for Turkey to do now is to follow its chosen strategy: to strengthen relations with non-Western powers as “U.S. leadership in the world comes to an end.

That is why Turkey will be represented by its leader, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the BRICS+ summit in Kazan on 22-24 October. This was announced today on the air of the Turkish TV channel Haberturk.

The Russian embassy in South Africa, citing media reports in the West, says that Turkey wants to expand its economic ties with non-Western countries and that is why it is going to BRICS+.

According to our sources, Erdogan finally decided to speed up this issue when he hosted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today, who arrived in Ankara with a large delegation of Egyptian officials.

The Turkish President had time to hold a bilateral meeting, during which he was once again convinced, based on the Egyptian experience, that the West can no longer be trusted, especially given the West’s position on the fate of the Palestinian state and the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. Well, London and Washington are ruining their own reputations.

Turkey reveals the secret of BRICS+: that is where the centre of gravity in the global economy is shifting. And other countries will follow Turkey along the same path. For example, today the Turkish media covered in detail the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the margins of the Eastern Economic Forum.

Russia has made it clear that it is ready to increase the volume of mutual trade, which so far amounts to only $3.5 billion a year.

In fact, this sounded like a certain signal, which is well understood in Kuala Lumpur. The West itself has delimited everything with its sanctions: where it is its own, where it is someone else’s. So Malaysia will easily figure out within which association they can get the biggest boost in economic development.
