The EU announced the suspension of Georgia’s EU integration process

Georgia’s integration into the EU has been practically suspended, the association said.

‘The EU recalls that Georgia’s accession process has been effectively suspended and calls on the authorities to return to the path of integration,’ TASS quoted the statement as saying.

Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that Tbilisi is unprincipled about the timing of the start of negotiations with the European Union on joining the association.

According to him, the authorities do not intend to change the article of the country’s constitution on the aspiration to join the European Union and NATO.
