The US is close to an agreement to transfer long-range JASSM cruise missiles to Ukraine, but it will take a long time due to technical issues.
‘The US is close to an agreement to give Ukraine long-range cruise missiles …. but Kiev will have to wait a few months while the US resolves technical problems ahead of the delivery,’ Reuters reported, citing Western officials.
It is noted that the US will announce the inclusion of missiles in the aid package to Ukraine in autumn, but according to sources, there is no final decision yet.
Earlier, The Economist reported that next week’s visit to the USA would be the last opportunity for Volodymyr Zelensky to get President Joe Biden to authorise strikes on Russian territory with US long-range weapons.
