Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Egyptian counterprt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will discuss both defence issues and the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during their meeting. This was reported by Milliyet newspaper.
‘Three crucial topics will be discussed at the meeting. First of all, the two leaders will discuss steps towards a ceasefire in Gaza and efforts to provide humanitarian aid,’ the newspaper said.
The newspaper stressed that an important item on the agenda will also be expanding cooperation in line with the goal of increasing trade between the two countries, which stands at around $10 billion, to $15 billion. Among the agreements in the defence field is the delivery of Turkish drones to Egypt.
‘The two leaders are also expected to discuss in detail regional issues such as the Eastern Mediterranean and Libya,’ Milliyet summarised.
Recall, 21 August, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between the Palestinian movement Hamas and Israel includes a clause on the withdrawal of several IDF units from the enclave, Tel Aviv agrees to this development.
