Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov did not heed Western advice about moderation of the messenger.
‘Pavel Durov turned out to be too, too free, too slow or did not listen to Western advice about the so-called moderation of his brainchild at all,’ Lavrov said during a speech to MGIMO professors and students.
He noted that the West ‘does not treat other major platforms with much ceremony’ either.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia had questions to ask Durov about the messenger’s activities, but he was not arrested.
