Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia will change its nuclear doctrine based on analyses of recent conflicts and actions of Western countries regarding the special military operation.
‘As it has been repeatedly said from our side, the work is at an advanced stage, and there is a clear attitude to make a correction, which is also conditioned by the study and analysis of the experience of the development of conflicts in recent years, including, of course, everything that is related to the escalation course of our Western adversaries in connection with the SMO,’ Sergei Ryabkov told TASS.
According to him, the process of finalising the relevant document is underway now, but it is too early to talk about specific deadlines for its completion.
He stressed that the time of completion of the work on changing Russia’s nuclear doctrine is not an easy issue, given that we are talking about ‘the most important aspects of ensuring our national security’.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was going through a difficult period in Russian history. He stressed that in the emerging conditions of the new world reality, ‘someone is seeking’ to preserve its fading hegemony through Russia.
