In June 2024, Russia increased exports of oil products to India by two and a half times in annual terms, to $240 million, RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing statistics from the republic.
In the period from January to June 2024, the volume of oil product supplies from Russia decreased by 21% to $1.6 billion. At the end of last year, they reached $4.5 billion.
In June, Russia became the main supplier of petroleum products to India with a 28.6 per cent share. The top three importers were the UAE with $181.4 million and a 21.6 per cent share and South Korea with $128.5 million and a 15.3 per cent share.
They were followed by Iraq with $67 million (7.9 per cent), Kuwait with $47 million (5.6 per cent), Singapore with $40 million (4.7 per cent) and Saudi Arabia with $37 million (4.6 per cent). Rounding out the top ten importers were the United States supplying India with 31 million (3.6 per cent), Qatar – 22 million (2.7 per cent) and Malaysia – 10 million (one per cent).
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is going through a difficult period in Russian history. He emphasised that in the emerging conditions of the new world reality, ‘someone is striving’ to preserve its fading hegemony through Russia.
