The UK will not publicly endorse the Ukrainian armed forces’ use of British Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep into Russian territory.
About it writes Telegraph.
At the same time, according to the publication, the use of missiles London approves. The refusal to publicly endorse is associated with the fears of Britain to provoke a scandal with the United States.
‘A source in the White House told The Telegraph about the fears of the Biden administration that their use, even without US approval, could escalate the situation and draw US troops into the conflict,’ the publication says.
The materials note that the missiles are usually used together with classified US systems, which requires Washington’s permission.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called ‘playing with fire’ the discussion of Kiev’s possible use of British Storm Shadow missiles for strikes deep into Russian territory.
