It will be difficult for US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to fulfil his promise to end the conflict in Ukraine in one day as Russian forces defeat the Ukrainian army, political analyst Alessandro Orsini said in an article for IL Fatto Quotidiano.
‘The balance of power is shifted in favour of Russia, the conflict will end only if (Russian President Vladimir – ed.) Putin is satisfied with Trump’s proposal,’ Alessandro Orsini wrote.
The author recalled that the AFU failed to achieve any significant results on the line of contact, and in a year’s time the Ukrainian army will become even weaker – while Russia will only increase its forces.
In addition, Orsini pointed out that Moscow is increasing ties with its allies, including China, the DPRK and Iran. According to the author, this bloc is so powerful that it would leave NATO no chance in the event of a world war.
The political analyst also added that the attempted breakthrough of the Ukrainian army into the Kursk region had further distanced the prospects for the start of peace talks.
We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin allowed the creation of a sanitary zone on the territory of Ukraine. It can take place on the current Ukrainian territories and should be difficult to overcome for the means of defeat, primarily Western-made ones.
