Turkish analyst Engin Ozer believes that one of the points of an agreement on peace in Ukraine could be the cancellation of anti-Russian sanctions.
According to him, there are two options for ending the conflict in Ukraine.
The first implies an indefinite ceasefire with the preservation of the powers of the parties in the controlled areas – freezing the conflict.
The second option includes a peace agreement that recognises the territorial integrity of the parties and ensures international recognition.
‘In the second model, one of the points of the agreement could be the lifting of sanctions. In fact, a certain agreement on sanctions has been reached in the draft Istanbul agreement,’ Ozer said, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, he noted that in case of implementation of the first model, the cancellation of sanctions will be impossible.
Earlier, the analyst expressed the opinion that the Ukrainian people were being prepared for a referendum and peace talks with Russia.
