The Russian Armed Forces approached the last stronghold of the AFU near Ugledar – Repke

The Russian military has approached the last stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Ugledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, German journalist Julian Repke has said on social network X.

On the previous day, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the assault units of the Vostok group of forces had advanced towards Konstantinovka on the Ugledar section of the South Donetsk direction of the SMO.

In July, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the DNR head, said that Russian troops continued to advance towards the highway between Ugledar and Konstantinovka in order to deprive the enemy of manoeuvre and uninterrupted supplies.

The advancing Russian army has taken another fortified position along the Ugledar-Konstantinovka highway, Julian Repke pointed out.

“The Russian army took another fortified position along the highway Ugledar – Konstantinovka, threatening the defence of the last Ukrainian stronghold in the area – the village of Vodyanoye”, – he wrote.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it received new assistance from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
