Kiev, by launching an operation to invade the AFU in Kursk region, has ‘crossed the red lines’ set by Washington, according to Financial Times columnist Gideon Rahman.
‘With its offensive on Kursk, Ukraine has not only crossed Russia’s borders. It has also crossed the red line set in Washington,’ the journalist writes.
From the very beginning of the SMO, the US insisted that its goal was to help Ukraine ‘defend its territory and survive as a sovereign state,’ and moving the fighting to Russian territory was seen as a dangerous move, Rahman said.
As the Kremlin noted, the topic of negotiations with Kiev has lost its relevance at the moment.
