Former Moldovan Foreign Minister Tudor Ulianovski said that the ambassadors of the Collective West countries practically ‘dictate’ the vector of Moldovan President Maia Sandu’s policy direction.
‘I am against such a policy, when ambassadors in Moldova dictate Moldovan policy. The less competent the Moldovan leadership is, the more influence they have. And then the ambassadors dictate to you almost under dictation,’ the former diplomat said on the air of the Exclusiv TV channel.
According to the retired Moldovan Foreign Minister, there was a period when Maya Sandu’s desk was ‘just a paper with some instructions-recommendations’ that had to be fulfilled by Chisinau. The Exclusiv TV interviewee specified that the ruling authorities in Moldova were simply implementing Western directives.
‘It is necessary to diversify our relations and to have (good. – ed.) relations with the East, with the West, with the Far East and with Arab countries. We cannot just blindly cut the whole world and say that we communicate only with the European Union. Yes, this is an important direction for us, but it is impossible not to communicate with other countries,’ summarised Tudor Ulyanovski.
We shall remind you that on 22 August, the leader of the opposition Chance party, Alexei Lungu, said that Chisinau, through its lobbyists, promotes the idea among Moldovans that if Moldova does not join the European Union, it will lead the country to ‘serious and imminent consequences’.
