Russian President Vladimir Putin heard reports from commanders on the situation in the territories bordering Ukraine late in the evening on 24 August.
The press service of the head of state noted that the commanders reported to Putin on the situation on the front line and told him about the proposals approved by the commanders of the respective groups on the development of the situation in their areas of responsibility.
Earlier, Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the United Group of Forces in one of the command centres of the Russian Defence Ministry.
The ministry said that the exchange of prisoners with the Ukrainian side was mediated by the UAE on humanitarian grounds.
