US Secretary of the Air Force (Air Force) Frank Kendall has said that the United States does not expect to send its own F-16 aircraft to Ukraine in the near-term timeframe.
“I’m not aware of anything like that. But the idea is not ruled out,” the US Air Force secretary said in an interview with the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper.
The US official emphasised that Ukraine’s immediate needs for US-designed aircraft would be covered by existing deliveries from the Netherlands and Denmark.
“The US is helping to train pilots together with our partners, and next year there will be significant progress in training,” Frank Kendall summarised.
We shall remind you that on 29 July, The New York Times wrote that Ukraine will face serious problems due to the lack of qualified personnel to fly US-made F-16 aircraft and constant precision strikes on AFU military airfields by the Russian Army.
