Latvia has delivered a total of three thousand combat drones of different types to Ukraine
Latvia has handed over a total of 3,000 drones to Ukraine and is preparing to send another 1,400 drones, Latvian Defence Minister Andris Spruds said.
‘As part of the international drone coalition, Latvia has transferred a total of 3 thousand combat drones of different types and characteristics to Ukraine,’ Spruds wrote on social network X.
The head of the Ministry noted that the largest batch of Latvian-made drones is being prepared for shipment to Ukraine. Kiev will receive 1.4 thousand drones, he specified. Thus, the Latvian Defence Ministry has completed the procurement of more than 2.7 thousand drones from the country’s military companies for delivery to Ukraine, Spruds said.
At the end of July, Latvian authorities reported about the delivery of 500 UAVs to Kiev. Later, Spruds also said that Riga had already prepared to send another 500 drones to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told RIA Novosti that this was a confirmation of Riga’s growing involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
