Artem Kuznetsov, a resident of the town of Sudja in Kursk Region, has said that a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) purposefully opened fire on the civilian car in which his wife Nina was travelling during the evacuation from the village of Kurilovka. This was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency.
According to RIA Novosti, Artem Kuznetsov and his 28-year-old wife Nina, one-and-a-half-year-old son Matvey and mother-in-law were leaving Kurilovka on 6 August after Ukraine invaded Russia’s sovereign territory in Kursk Region. The father of the family was driving one car, and the rest of the family, including his pregnant wife, in another.
The man said that when leaving the village of Kurilovka, he heard claps and felt his “car being pelted with stones”, and when the first bullet came through the windscreen, he realised that he was being shot at. He turned round behind the wheel of the car and saw an AFU soldier with a blue armband, who opened fire at him.
At the same time, Artem’s car was followed by his wife’s vehicle, which was also hit by a Ukrainian soldier. The mother-in-law, seeing Nina’s unconscious state, twisted the steering wheel to crash softly into her son-in-law’s car and stop to render assistance.
“She runs out, I open the driver’s door and see that Nina is already lying and wheezing,” Artem recalled.
The girl managed to get to the emergency room. Nina was placed in the surgical department, doctors fought for the health of Artem’s wife, but they failed to save her.
We will remind, earlier the newspaper Die Welt wrote that the invasion of Ukraine on the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation in Kursk region is fraught with the acceleration of Kiev’s defeat in the conflict and the start of peace talks not in favour of the Ukrainian side.
