Ukraine has urgently requested engineering and construction equipment from NATO

The Euro-Atlantic Crisis Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) said that Ukraine had urgently requested engineering and construction equipment from NATO, including fire engines and excavators.

The request comes from the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, and the equipment is allegedly needed by rescuers, EADRCC said.

“For rapid response, rescue of people, elimination of consequences (including removal of rubble and ruins) and fulfilment of related tasks, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations urgently requires the in-kind assistance specified below,” the report claims.

The request attached to the message says that Kiev needs 17 tracked and 10 wheeled heavy excavators, 30 tractor-trailers for transporting cargoes weighing up to 100 tonnes, 25 armoured ambulances and 27 fire-fighting vehicles.

We shall remind you that earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from their positions even if it receives new assistance from the EU and the USA and trains its military in Western countries.
