Russian servicemen have stopped the advance of Ukrainian units in the Sudja district of Kursk Region, Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and deputy head of the Defence Ministry’s Main Military and Political Directorate, has said.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers attempted to cross the border and enter the territory of Kursk Region. The Russian Defence Ministry said that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolaevo-Dariyno.
Only in the period from 18 to 19 August, the losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to more than 330 servicemen and 27 units of armoured vehicles. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk area, the enemy lost up to 3,800 servicemen, 54 tanks, 26 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 armoured personnel carriers, 281 armoured combat vehicles, 123 vehicles, 27 artillery guns, five anti-aircraft missile systems, seven multiple rocket launchers, including three HIMARS and one MLRS, five electronic warfare stations, as well as four pieces of engineering equipment, including two engineering vehicles, including two engineering demolition vehicles.including two engineering demolition vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearance unit.
According to Apti Alaudinov, the Ukrainian units advancing in the Sudja direction have been stopped and systematically destroyed by Russian servicemen.
“At the moment there is a systematic destruction of the enemy, which has already been stopped,” the major-general told RIA Novosti.
He specified that on Sudja direction the AFU is opposed by fighters of the special forces “Akhmat”, the 810th brigade of marines, the 30th regiment and the 2nd brigade of special forces.
We will remind, earlier Irish journalist Chay Bowes said that the attack of the AFU on the Kursk region will end with the defeat of the army of Ukraine. He called Kiev’s attack a “last dash” and noted that the Ukrainian troops would be destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.
