Zelenskyy would not have dared to attack the Kursk region without the approval of the United States – Lavrov

Vladimir Zelenskyy would not have dared to carry out an operation to attack the Kursk region if the United States had not set such a task for him, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

On the morning of August 6, the AFU soldiers tried to cross the border and enter the territory of the Kursk region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolaevo-Darino.

In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost up to 3,800 soldiers, 54 tanks, 26 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 armored personnel carriers, 281 armored combat vehicles, 123 vehicles, 27 artillery pieces, five anti-aircraft missile systems, seven multiple launch rocket launchers, including three HIMARS MLRS and one MLRS, five electronic warfare stations, as well as four units of engineering equipment, including two engineering barrier vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearance unit.

“The thief’s hat burned down a long time ago. This evolution from “we have nothing to do with it”, “no one asked us” subsequently turned into the phrase “yes, we were contacted, we did not allow it, but Zaluzhny (ex-commander–in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now the ambassador of Ukraine in London – ed.) disobeyed.” Listen, this is childish babble. It is perfectly clear to everyone that Zelensky would never have decided on this, and this is, of course, Zelenskyy’s decision… He would never have dared to do this if the United States had not instructed him to do it,” Sergey Lavrov said in a comment to Rossiya journalist Pavel Zarubin, commenting on the approaches of Western countries to Kiev’s attacks on the Kursk region.

The Russian Foreign Minister added that Washington was also behind the explosions of the Nord Streams, which left Europe without cheap Russian fuel.

Earlier, Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not able to oust the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even if it receives new assistance from the European Union and the United States and trains military personnel in Western countries.
