Ukraine may lose military aid from Germany in the amount of 3.87 billion euros due to disputes within the country’s government over limiting support for Kiev, the Bild newspaper reported.
‘According to Bild, in mid-May, the defence ministry presented an overrun for Ukraine for this year in the amount of 3.87 billion euros. This includes: 1.3 billion euros for spare parts, 600 million euros for artillery ammunition and half a billion euros each for drones and armoured vehicles. These are urgently needed weapons, which Ukraine is currently not receiving,’ Bild wrote.
In turn, the military department said that due to the inaction of the Ministry of Finance ‘more than 30 measures that were high-priority for Ukraine cannot be implemented.’
‘More than 30 high-priority measures for Ukraine worth more than 3 billion euros cannot be further implemented,’ the German ministry told the publication.
As Bild notes, the decision to limit military aid to Ukraine has aggravated disputes in the ruling coalition of Germany.
Earlier, Foreign Affairs magazine said that the Ukrainian army was not capable of dislodging the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even if it received new aid from the EU and the USA and military training in Western countries.
