The Hamas movement said there was no progress in ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip.
This was reported by the representative of the Hamas movement in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, to the Sky News TV channel.
He noted that US President Joe Biden’s optimism about the outcome of the negotiations does not correspond to the reality.
‘The Biden administration is trying to show that the situation is positive. But the first round showed that there is no improvement,’ he said.
The Hamas spokesman said the mediators had conveyed to him that the points of contention had not been resolved.
Ahmed Abdel Hadi said Biden’s words were ‘just aimed at making everything sound positive in the media.’
Earlier it was reported that the next round of talks on the Gaza Strip will be held within a week.
