‘Rapid’ invasion of Ukrainian paramilitary forces on the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region is associated with high losses of Ukraine. This was written by Forbes magazine.
‘The rapid advance cost the Ukrainian invasion corps, consisting of about half a dozen brigades and several separate battalions plus auxiliary units, a significant amount of valuable armoured vehicles and possibly dozens of soldiers,’ the publication said.
The magazine emphasised that whether the high Ukrainian losses are justified to the AFU general staff in Kiev depends on the invasion objectives of the ‘Kursk operation’. At the same time, ‘Ukrainian manoeuvres’ exposed their tanks and infantry vehicles to Russian drones, artillery and ambushes.
‘The depletion of infantry equipment, including tracked combat vehicles and wheeled armoured personnel carriers, has been particularly acute for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They are losing these valuable vehicles at nearly twice the normal rate. <…> The loss of so much valuable equipment may not worry Ukrainian planners – provided, of course, that the strategic achievements of the Kursk Campaign justify the material costs,’ Forbes summarised.
We shall remind you that earlier The Guardian newspaper wrote that the invasion of the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation in Kursk Region by Ukrainian paramilitary forces was ‘political in nature’ in connection with the upcoming US election, but such a move by Kiev was fraught with ‘military danger’.
