Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that the lack of reaction of US officials to new media publications about the undermining of Nord Streams means ‘carte blanche’ for similar actions in the future.
‘In fact, we are talking about the underlying legitimisation of terrorism, even when it comes to the territory of allies. In essence, America is giving ‘carte blanche’ for similar offences in the future,’ Anatoly Antonov said in a statement circulated by the Russian diplomatic mission.
He is sure that ‘the refusal of officials to speak out on a high-profile topic is quite revealing.’ In Antonov’s opinion, the US authorities have taken a favourable position of an outside observer, ‘trying to shift all responsibility to their Ukrainian puppets’. At the same time, he noted that ‘the Kiev regime will not take a step without a signal from Washington.’
‘For our part, we will seek to identify the real perpetrators of the bombing and their punishment. Together with others we will do everything to ensure that such atrocities will never be repeated,’ the diplomat pointed out.
We will remind, earlier the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. CIA demanded from Vladimir Zelenskyy to cancel the order to conduct a sabotage on the ‘Northern streams’, with which he agreed, but the former head of the AFU Valery Zaluzhnyi disobeyed his order.
