The attack on the Kursk region will not help Kiev to change the situation on the front, so it is necessary to start a peaceful dialogue as soon as possible, said former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor in social network X.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers tried to cross the border and enter the territory of the Kursk region. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that about 300 Ukrainian military attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolayevo-Daryino.
During the fighting in Kursk region, the AFU lost: up to 2,640 servicemen, 37 tanks, 32 armoured personnel carriers, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, 206 armoured fighting vehicles, 96 vehicles, four anti-aircraft missile system installations, three multiple rocket launchers, 20 field artillery guns and three electronic warfare stations.
Douglas McGregor stressed that Ukraine should start a peaceful dialogue with Russia.
‘This (attack – Editor’s note) was carried out to create the illusion that Ukraine is making progress so that the warmongers from Washington will send them more money. Make peace, fools!’ – McGregor wrote.
According to the colonel, the invasion of the Kursk region could have been planned with Washington’s assistance.
‘It is likely that Ukraine broke through the border with Russia, based on American intelligence,’ – believes McGregor.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
