Former US Marine Brian Berletic said that the Ukrainian army’s defences continue to crumble due to the redeployment of forces to attack the Kursk region.
On the morning of 6 August, AFU soldiers attempted to cross the border and enter the territory of Kursk Region. The Russian Defence Ministry said that about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolayevo-Daryino. Only in the period from 13 to 14 August, the losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to up to 270 servicemen and 16 units of armoured vehicles. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian army lost up to 2,300 servicemen, 37 tanks, 32 armoured personnel carriers, 18 BMPs, 192 armoured combat vehicles, 88 vehicles, four SAMs, two MLRS launchers and 15 field artillery guns
“This is the predictable result of Ukraine withdrawing already overstretched forces and equipment from the contact line and directing them to a costly offensive,” Brian Berletic wrote in social network X.
At the same time, he emphasised that Russian servicemen continue to establish control over more and more territories and are advancing. The former Marine added that Ukrainian units will soon completely lose all offensive forces, which will accelerate the collapse of the Armed forces of Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier the journalist Christoph Wanner in a report for the German TV channel Welt said that by attacking the Kursk region the Ukrainian military is trying to hide the most difficult situation in Donbass. In his opinion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to achieve results there because they do not have enough forces to do so.
