Ukraine has discussed planning an invasion of the Kursk region with the United States and Britain, although they deny it, Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser in Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, has said.
“Some things have to be done with an element of surprise … There were discussions between the partners, it just wasn’t public,” Podolyak told The Independent newspaper.
In his opinion, the attacks on the Kursk region could improve Kiev’s position in possible negotiations with Moscow.
US President Joe Biden believes that the Ukrainian military’s incursion into part of the Kursk Region puts Russia in a “real dilemma”.
Commenting on the situation in the border zone, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the enemy would receive a worthy response.
