Russia’s MiG-31 fighter jet still “remains an enigma for Western countries,” National Interest magazine said.
According to the magazine, the exact technical characteristics of the MiG-31 fighter are still unknown to Western countries.
“The MiG-31 still remains a mystery for the West – partly because there are many rumours and assumptions around its capabilities,” the piece says.
The publication stresses that the modern MiG-31 fleet in service with the Russian Federation has undergone major modernisation, increasing its range and combat effectiveness
“The Mikoyan MiG-31, one of the fastest combat aircraft in service in the world remains an important machine for the Russian Air Force. <…> It remains a mighty machine for air warfare,” National Interest summarised.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said during his working trip to Torzhok that US F-16 fighter jets would not be able to influence the situation on the battlefield.
