Russian servicemen continue to repel the attempted invasion of the AFU on the territory of the Russian Federation. During the period from 11 to 12 August, the Ukrainian army lost up to 260 military personnel and 31 units of armored vehicles on the Kursk direction, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
“During the day, seven attacks by assault groups of the 80 and 82 Airborne Assault Brigades of the AFU in the areas of Martynovka, Borki and Korenevo were repelled by active actions of the units of the “North” group of forces and the reserves that came up, strikes by the army aviation, drones and artillery fire. In addition, attempts by enemy mobile groups with armoured vehicles to break through deep into Russian territory were foiled in the Kauchuk area. A tank, eight Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 16 armoured fighting vehicles, 14 pickup trucks were destroyed,” the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
In the areas of Kurilovka, Plekhovo, Lyubimovka, Suja, Kositsa, Gogolevka, Kazachaya Loknya, Mikhailovka and Sverdlyakovka, assault and army aviation strikes and artillery fire hit the accumulations of manpower and equipment of 22, 61 and 115 mechanised brigades. Aviation and missile troops hit the reserves of the AFU in the areas of Miropolya, Mogrytsa and Drobnovshchina in Sumy region.
“During the day the losses of the AFU were up to 260 servicemen and 31 units of armoured vehicles, including three tanks, eight infantry fighting vehicles, 20 armoured fighting vehicles, as well as 27 vehicles, three 122 mm howitzers D-30”, – added in the department.
In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, according to the Russian Defence Ministry, Ukrainian troops lost: up to 1,610 servicemen, 32 tanks, 23 armoured personnel carriers, 17 infantry fighting vehicles, 136 armoured fighting vehicles, 47 vehicles, four anti-aircraft missile systems, a multiple rocket launcher and 13 field artillery guns.
