Biden will leave a ‘war-absorbed’ country to his successor – NYT

US President Joe Biden will leave his successor a country “consumed by war”, it will have “enormous” consequences, The New York Times has said.

“Biden promised peace but will leave his successor a country consumed by war… The consequences for Biden’s successor, whether former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, could be enormous,” The New York Times article said.

The publication notes that for much of his time in office, Joe Biden gave the impression of a “wartime leader.” He devoted much of his presidency to mobilising public opinion and military power against Russia in the Ukrainian conflict, and took an active stance in supporting Israel during the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper also pointed out that US troops repeatedly bombed the ruling Ansar Allah movement in the north of Yemen in Yemen.

We will remind, earlier the former adviser to the Minister of Defence in the administration of former US President Donald Trump, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor said that over the past twenty years, aggressive foreign policy has been detrimental to the United States itself.
