Biden’s LNG export ban has angered Republican states – FP

US President Joe Biden has suspended permits for LNG-related projects in a move that could bring big trouble to Republican states and contractors in the United States, writes Foreign Policy columnist Keith Johnson.

Keith Johnson pointed out that the head of the White House is using the issuance of permits as a political tool.

“This year, in an attempt to please voters alarmed by climate concerns, <…> the Biden administration announced a suspension of permits for LNG projects. <…> This angered both U.S. customers in Asia and Europe and Republicans from energy-producing states,” Johnson said.

Biden’s decisions have led to the possibility that US LNG supplies could be disrupted in the short term, Johnson said.

“Energy exports from the United States expects a storm,” the author added.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
