The conflict in Ukraine will end with Russia’s victory – Medvedev

The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, in social network X compared the air defence in Ukraine to the conflict in Georgia in 2008, stressing that the current military campaign would also end with Russia’s victory.

Georgia shelled South Ossetia with Grad multiple rocket launchers on the night of 8 August 2008, Georgian troops attacked the republic and destroyed parts of its capital Tskhinvali. Russia, defending the people of South Ossetia, brought troops into the republic and after five days of fighting forced the Georgian military out of the region.

Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that in 2008 Russia defended its interests and its people.

“In 2008, we defended our people and defended the interests of our country after the raid of that freak (ex-Georgian head Mikhail) Saakashvili. The current military campaign will also end with an unconditional victory for Russia,” he wrote.

We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, proposed a Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
